We love island-hopping via ferry, whether it's Coupeville to Port Townsend or Clinton to Mukilteo. Music Fest every Labor Day weekend rounds out the year on the island.

Anacortes, WA
Bakery runs at Calico Cupboard and a go-to slice from Village Pizza are always on the list. Every July, Shipwreck Day brings 200+ vendors of treasure-hunting chaos to town, and the state park views never get old. As the gateway to the San Juan Islands, it's just a ferry ride away from even more adventure.
CHELAN COUNTY
Leavenworth, WA
The riverwalk is my go-to spot to disconnect and recharge, especially with a local craft beverage and a bratwurst in hand soaking in the Bavarian-village charm. In summer, floating the river is the perfect way to cool off. Fall brings Oktoberfest, and come winter, the whole town transforms into the North Pole.

Wenatchee & Cashmere, WA
Mornings often start with coffee and fresh ingredient runs at Pybus Farmers Market. The Apple Blossom Festival is a highlight — ice cream, tea, live entertainment, and turkey legs — and race nights at the Wenatchee Super Oval make for an affordable, fun-filled evening. Spring drives on the forest service roads bring blooming wildflowers and wildlife around every turn, and riverwalk strolls along the Columbia with my wife are a favorite way to unwind. Local favorites: Mela for coffee, Glaze for donuts, and EZ's for the best burgers in town.
